Eat This Not That

I love this segment of the Men’s Health Magazine Website! I subscribe to the newsletter, and save them all in a special box in my email for reference! Take a look through this one, and subscribe! (click on the title Eat This Not That)

You’ll be surprised to see some of the calories, sugar, and sodium in foods you thought were “healthy” or “not too bad.”

Chocolate Cheesecake Shakeology

Chocolate Cheesecake Shakeology

1 scoop chocolate Shakeology

1 tablespoon fat free, sugar free Jello Chessecake pudding mix

1/2 c Almond milk

2/3 c water

1 cup ice

BLEND and that’s a yummy 200 calorie breakfast!!

What I love about Shakeology is that I drink it in the morning on my way to work at 6:30 am. It’s usually gone within 20 minutes, and I have an hour and a half drive to work! Nonetheless, it keeps me full until around 10 am, when I know it’s time for my snack!

Kale Chips!

I can’t wait to try this and pack them as snacks for work! For more good recipes like this, or to see the original link, go to www.michellemyersonline.com because I stole it straight from there!

If you look think kale is only a garnish…

You are missing out.

Kale chips are my favorite way to get the crunch of a chip while only getting the calories of a vegetable.

Added bonus: They are super simple to make!

You will need:

1 bunch kale
TBSP extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp sea salt

Instructions:

Preheat an oven to 350 degrees.

Line a non insulated cookie sheet with parchment paper.

With a knife or kitchen shears carefully remove the leaves from the thick stems and tear into bite size pieces.

Wash and thoroughly dry kale with a salad spinner.

Drizzle kale with olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt.

Bake until the edges brown but are not burnt, 10 to 15 minutes.

PRODUCTS OF THE MONTH

Fresh’s Soy Facewash $15 www.sephora.com

I love this stuff!! It’s super gentle and smells like cucumbers and other freshness! I’ve been using it for about 6 weeks, and my skin is so much softer! Also, it is gentle enough to use as an eye makeup remover, so you don’t have to spend extra cash on remover and extra cotton balls!

L’Oreal Studio Secrets Primer: Magic Perfecting Base $7-$10

I have tried a lot of the expensive face primers, makeup primers, pre-makeup bases, etc. This one is my favorite by far! However, if you have oily skin, it’s probably not for you because it is a little bit greasy. It has more texture, almost waxy, whereas others are just liquid. As a result, I find that it fills in the little lines around my eyes and on my forehead, providing just a little buffer for the foundation and powder! Available at regular drug stores: CVS, Walgreens, WalMart, etc.

Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark Circle Roller $10-$15

I have terrible dark circles and I love love love this product! It has a nice clean roller on it, and you don’t need too much. Just put under the eye and near the bridge of the nose. I find that it covers better if you just lightly pat it into the skin with the middle or ring finger. Follow with foundation/powder and you’ll look glowing. Available at regular drug stores: CVS, Walgreens, WalMart, etc.
